Since February, members of the Brown County General Hospital Foundation have been selling raffle tickets for a chance to win an expense paid trip or the cash value of $5,000.
On Tuesday, October 2nd, the winning name was drawn. The winner was Carol Myers, a retired Western Brown Elementary School teacher from Georgetown. She chose the $5,000 and was presented her check by Edith Fath and Chester Greene, members of the BCGH Foundation Board of Trustees.
The money raised from the raffle will go toward the Foundation's Scholarship Fund. This fund provides $3,000 scholarshps to assist qualified students from Brown County in completing a degree or certification in one of several health careers. A total of five scholarships are awarded annually.
The purpose of the Brown County General Hospital Foundation is to acknowledge the importance of health to quality of life, to recognize the central role the hospital plays in improving health, and to encourage financial support for the hospital through charitable gifts, creating greater access to care and enhancing the meaning and dignity of life. |  |
